We believe in a clean energy future. SRECs are central to the transition, but they can be hard. We're here to modernize the SREC experience and make it easy for anyone to maximize the monetary value of their SRECs.
Our Team
You're looking at one seriously SREC-obsessed staff.
Ian Ayers
President & Cofounder
Ian leads the company in its mission to modernize how RECs are experienced in the clean energy economy. A passionate venture builder, he draws upon years of experience and skills gained in effectuating ideas, building teams, and driving growth. Outside work, it's always bikes: shredding with his wife and two kids, commuting to work daily, and chasing former glory. He holds a Systems Engineering degree from UVA and MBA from Darden.
Taylor Brown
managing partner & cofounder
Taylor is passionate about pushing the boundaries of innovation within the business. He leverages 15 years of experience in the utility scale power generation sector to support operations and strengthen investor relations. As a strong believer in the “work hard, play hard” mentality, when he isn’t building financial models, he is probably paddle boarding the Rivanna River with his family. Taylor received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is also the Chair of Governor Youngkin’s Clean Energy Advisory Board.
Chelsea Cox
Product Manager
Chelsea guides the strategy and execution at RECmint, bringing 15 years of software development experience, including work with several Fortune 500 companies. She’s passionate about using technology to drive a more sustainable future, and delivering products that significantly benefit both users and the world we live in. Beyond her work, she’s happily outnumbered at home by her three energetic sons.
Nolan Felicidario
Product Engineer
Blending creativity with technical insight, Nolan thrives at the intersection of design, technology, and product. With his academic foundation in philosophy, politics, and economics and a minor in environment from the University of Michigan, he brings a thoughtful and holistic approach to his work. As a seasoned designer, former software engineer, and wearer-of-many-hats, Nolan crafts exceptional product experiences. He’s perpetually active and always makes time for friends.
Chris Hapgood
director of software engineering
Chris Cyrus wakes up thinking about creating innovative software to solve exciting problems. He has held many roles in software-first companies, from individual contributor to team manager to CTO and has even struck out (in both senses of the term) on his own several times. A graduate of the UVA Engineering's Applied Math program, Chris Cyrus wishes "partial differential equation", "VIC-20" and "padel" were common Jeopardy topics.
Luke Horton
Senior Software Engineer
Luke learned early in life that it was more fun to build video games than to play them — a realization that sparked a career as a software craftsman. If Luke were a benevolent dictator, most of the world’s software would be written in Lisp, and everyone would read Vonnegut. When he’s not solving problems through software automation, Luke is hiding somewhere in the great outdoors, likely in another country– hiking, swimming, or mountain biking.
Rodrigo Landerdahl
Senior Software Engineer
Rodrigo lives for code, adventure, and family. A seasoned Clojure expert with a decade of experience, he's tackled challenges from fintech to healthtech. Off the clock, he's either off-roading, camping, or strumming his guitar on a tropical island in Brazil. A dad of two, he's into electric mobility, solar energy, and dreams of resuming his earlier life as an Oceanographer once he retires from coding.
Kathleen Voss
Customer Success Manager
Kathleen thrives on guiding customers through the intricate world of SREC aggregation. Her dedication to helping customers is rivaled only by her passion for embracing life's adventures and cherishing time spent with loved ones. Whether that’s experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, hitting the gym for a workout session with her roommate, or even taking the plunge with skydiving. She holds a Marketing degree from JMU.
Daniel Willson
operations manager
Daniel builds teams, tools, and processes to help RECmint grow. He has a passion for empowering people with the resources they need to succeed, whether that's to simplify the work of an internal team or to help customers move through the SREC registration process more smoothly. Daniel also plays jazz violin and hosts regular events for young professionals in Richmond, VA to connect. He holds a degree in Computer Science from UVA.

How we think about growing RECmint
We like people, especially solar people. We find ways to connect with and listen to our customers. We try to understand what they're going through. What's annoying? What's confusing? What good things could be done a little bit better? What new ideas should we explore?
For many, signing up for SRECs marks the final step of the going solar process—one that can have highs and lows. We want our customers' solar journeys to end on a high note, with SRECs minting like clockwork and deposits flowing to the bank.
Our solar partners are heroes. We know how challenging it is to run a solar business—it's labor intensive, competitive, and demands on team members are constantly shifting, both in the field and in the office. When we started RECmint (formerly Sun Tribe Trading), we knew that if we could make handling SRECs a breeze for our installer partners, we'd save valuable time and help delight their customers.
We ask "How can we better understand what our customers are experiencing?" That understanding guides what we do.
