How to reconnect your SolarEdge or Enphase inverter to the internet

In order to mint SRECs, your inverter needs to be connected to the internet to report data about your system’s energy production.

Occasionally, your inverter might lose its internet connection. Most inverters are connected to the internet either via WiFi (your home internet) or via a cellular modem (kind of like a cell phone attached to your inverter).

Here are some guides on how to get the most common inverters (Enphase + SolarEdge) back online.

If you have a different inverter (SMA, Fronius, etc), you’ll need to follow a different process to get it reconnected to the internet. Most inverter manufacturers have easy instructions on how to do this online. You also can usually easily find instructions within your inverter’s app or website.

We are not able to help troubleshoot internet connection issues beyond the instructions on this page. If you’re still having trouble, we recommend getting in touch with your solar installer or with your inverter’s support team directly. They are the experts on troubleshooting equipment problems.

Enphase Instructions

  1. Open the Enphase Enlighten app on your phone.

  2. Tap Menu in the bottom right.

  3. Tap System

  4. Tap Devices

  5. Tap Gateway

  6. Follow the instructions to reconnect.

Once your system is reconnected, it usually (but not always) can back-report missing energy production data, which we can then use to mint your SRECs. However, it can take a few days (or even weeks) for it to finish uploading that missing data.

If you’re still having trouble, we recommend getting in touch with your solar installer or with Enphase support.

SolarEdge Instructions

  1. Open the SolarEdge app on your phone.

  2. Tap the menu icon in the top left.

  3. Tap Inverter Communication. Follow the instructions to reconnect.

  4. Alternatively, try selecting “Restore Cellular Connectivity” if that’s an option in the menu.
