Why did Sun Tribe Trading rebrand to RECmint?
Sun Tribe Trading began 5 years ago as an offshoot of Sun Tribe’s core solar business. Our swift growth has been exciting, and our operation has taken on a life of its own apart from Sun Tribe, and we needed a new name to support our growth. We are proud to now be RECmint!
Sun Tribe Trading began 5 years ago as an offshoot of Sun Tribe’s core solar business. Much to our delight, our residential REC aggregation and trading operation has grown swiftly. It's taken on a life of its own! However, the brand, though now familiar to many, is too often confused with Sun Tribe’s other businesses (EPC, Development, O&M). Plus, it’s a mouthful. A new name was needed to support our growth.
We're proud to introduce RECmint!
Like a mint, RECmint is a place of value creation. A secure, grounded institution. An orderly, precise operation that our sellers, buyers, and partners come for RECs.
Now, you might notice that there’s no “trading” in our new name. Of course, RECmint is buying and selling RECs, and passing the proceeds along to its sellers. Trading isn't an action that our sellers must take on our platform—it happens in the background. Our new name emphasizes getting the RECs minted, and the monetary value of cashing-in on them as part of state-based incentive programs.
Our logo takes inspiration from the San Francisco Mint. It's a beautiful structure. Solid, secure, modern, and built with a purpose.
